Is it too much to ask?

Can't I just go to the bathroom without a child yelling my name over and over?

Can't I just have a full nights sleep without bottles or binkies or diapers or an extra body in my bed?

Can't I just enjoy a nice meal that I didn't have to throw together with "stuff" I found in the closet? Oh, and that I didn't have to cook!

Can't I just eat dessert 3 times a day and not gain weight?

Can't I just get ready for the day without a 2 year old dumping out all my makeup in the sink?

Cant the counter/floor/basement/bedrooms, etc. stay clean for more than 10 minutes?

Can't the boys have better "aim"?

Can't I just relax on a warm, sandy beach and read a magazine and drink a pina colada and get a tan?

If you are about to say you don't agree and don't want to come with me to my tropical island, you're lying!

Hmm, I don't know what's wrong with you, Jenny. I relish every opportunity to wipe up stray urine, scrape dried boogers off the walls, wash the same clothes three or four times in a row because the kids would rather put them back into the dirty clothes hamper than put them away, and make another meal that they will glare and make gagging motions at.

I guess I'm just old-fashioned.

AMEN! When are we leaving? I can be packed in about an hour! :) Layne's comment has me rolling as much as your post! Hang in there! We have more of those kinds of moments at our house than not! I'm sure it's worth it . . .right?

Eden informed me today that I wasn't keeping our bathrooms clean enough. She said in disgust, "mom! you should clean every bathroom in our house EVERY day!" Every two weeks when I actually clean the bathrooms I am always very grateful there are no boys living in our house. The pee rarely strays.

As to the rest of your post, yup, I'm right there with you! Doesn't VM have a timeshare on a tropical island somewhere? Now THAT would be wife appreciation!!!!

Seriously! I really agree- and I hate that Cannon opens whole boxes of tampons while I am in the shower!

I'm sorry Jen! That really is a funny post though. I told Brent the other day that I was going to take away the boys "manhood" and his by making them sit on the toilet to pee! I also am sick and tired of that.
If it makes you feel any better, I have had a migraine every day this week and I want to scream, I'll go on a vacation with you any day!
Love ya!!!

Responding to your question on my blog...Walmart of all places. I found our pink ones on a bigtime clearance - the b/w ones are like $39.99 for a 5-piece set. Good luck!

Believe me, I feel your pain, but also have some perspective. Having "lost" the 3 older ones in the past few years I look back now and really miss having them around and the chaos.
I still have the younger two to clean up after but have realized to enjoy the journey a little more because it's over before you know it and you'll look back and wish you were wiping little hand prints off the wall again.
Love ya!
